3D CNC Carving & Engraving
Every machine in the Impact CNC router range is fully 3D capable. By engaging all three axes simultaneously, CNC routers can produce intricate carved and engraved work that would be impossible - or prohibitively slow - to achieve by hand. From detailed signage and decorative panels to technical mould making and prototyping, the results speak for themselves.
3D carving and engraving begins with design software that generates toolpaths for the machine to follow. Impact CNC routers accept G-Code output from all major 3D CAM/CAM packages - so whatever software your team already uses, it will almost certainly work with our machines.
Commonly used compatible software includes:
Aspire - industry standard for 3D sign carving and decorating work
V-Carve - ideal for V-carving, inlays and lettering
Enroute - popular in the signage and display industry
ArtCAM - widely used for furniture, jewellery and artistic carving
Type3 - strong in decorative and typographic applications.
Using software not listed here? If it exports G-Code, we can work with it. Contact our team to confirm compatability
Impact CNC routers handle a broad range of materials for 3D carving and engraving applications, including:
Timber and hardwood
MDF and moisture-resistant MDF
High-density foam (EPS, polyurethane)
Soft plastics and acrylic
Composite panels
Corian and solid durface materials
Material choice affects tooling selection and feed rates. Our team can advise on the right setup for your specific substrate application.
